Mr. Hawkins is a quantity surveyor and chartered construction manager with 17 plus years of industry experience obtained from construction & engineering projects across the globe. He regularly provides clients with strategic opinion for the avoidance, mitigation and resolution of disputes. Clients continually trust Mr. Hawkins with their live project matters and dispute situations.
He has a keen eye for detail and specializes in quantum and damages valuations, large scale data analysis, measurement, delay/prolongation/loss & expense, thickening, disruption, loss of productivity, variations, remedial / defective works and terminations on complex construction projects. His experiences and skill set have led to him being appointed as the lead quantum expert witness on numerous occasions to provide his independent opinion.
Mr. Hawkins works with law firms, government bodies, developers / employers and organizations from the full spectrum of the supply chain, including general contractors & subcontractors. Those organizations are from a variety of industry sectors; including aviation, commercial, education, energy, hotels, healthcare, infrastructure, residential, rail and water. The appointments received span across litigation proceedings and numerous ADR processes including international arbitration, adjudication, mediation and negotiations.
In recent years, he has regularly been invited to produce articles and deliver presentations on quantity surveying and dispute resolution topics. Mr. Hawkins was invited as a guest on the highly-rated construction podcast series ‘Own the Build’ to discuss ‘how to avoid disputes in construction?’.
Before consulting, Mr. Hawkins worked as a UK main contractor’s quantity surveyor on a variety of multi-million-pound residential new build, refurbishment and planned maintenance projects.
