Michael Purtell has more than 10 years of industry and consulting experience focusing on construction and project management. Mr. Purtell has assisted in issues involving project management oversight, schedule delays, engineering and construction claims, construction deficiencies, change management, change order development, and contract negotiation.
Mr. Purtell has served as an independent expert in disputes in U.S. State and Federal courts as well as in arbitration. The topics Mr. Purtell has testified to include industry practices, project management oversight, schedule delays, engineering and construction claims, and construction deficiencies. As a part of his work, Mr. Purtell has prepared damage quantification assessments associated with schedule delays, labor productivity, construction defects, and changes in work scope, among other issues. He also provides analysis of construction drawings, specifications, and procedures, and evaluates repair and recovery costs associated with defective work.
Earlier in his career, he held various positions in the construction industry working both domestically and abroad as a field engineer, superintendent, project manager, contract administrator for projects in the oil and gas and commercial sectors. As a consultant Mr. Purtell has experience in capital projects in the oil & gas, marine, industrial, infrastructure/transportation, energy, commercial, and residential sectors.
