Jeffrey Guo, Ph.D., is an economist with expertise in behavioral economics, experimental economics, political economy, and microeconomic theory.
Dr. Guo’s research uses experimental methods to study how individuals make decisions in group settings. While empirical and observational analyses are often complicated by confounding factors, Dr. Guo’s controlled experiments are designed to isolate and measure mechanisms predicted to affect behavior. Dr. Guo has published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, including Games and Economic Behavior and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
Dr. Guo earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. At Columbia, Dr. Guo served as a Teaching Fellow for six term courses and received the Wueller Fellowship for his teaching in a Ph.D. course. He also served as the Lab Manager for the Columbia Experimental Laboratory for Social Sciences.
Before his graduate studies, Dr. Guo held a position at an economic consulting firm. His work included evaluating a proposed merger for an FTC Second Request and analyzing retirement plans in the context of ERISA lawsuits. Dr. Guo earned his B.A. in Economics (with distinction) from Yale University.
