Ben Cavanagh is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 11 years of experience in quantity surveying and dispute resolution on major international construction and engineering projects. He has worked on projects of varying size and complexity across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.
Ben Cavanagh specialises in providing quantum expert services, independent opinion on contentious matters and independent advice on matters relating to quantum arising from construction and engineering disputes.
Mr Cavanagh has supported quantum experts in international arbitration, litigation and other formal proceedings, undertaking detailed assessments and valuations of complex disputed claims, including those related to prolongation, disruption, variations, defective work and termination.
His expertise spans major construction and engineering projects across the oil and gas, power generation, aviation, rail and real estate sectors in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. He is experienced in the application of a range of standard forms of contract, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC, as well as bespoke contractual arrangements.
Prior to specialising in quantum expert work, Mr Cavanagh held a senior role at a leading global professional consultancy firm, where he practised as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and was responsible for cost management, commercial management and contract administration on major programmes of work.
