Dr. Evans specializes in polymer synthesis, characterization, and application testing. He has extensive experience in a variety of polymerization techniques and polymer applications, specifically concerning adhesives, coatings, and oil and gas markets.
Dr. Evans holds a D.Phil. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford and an MChem from the University of Warwick. His graduate research focused on the synthesis, characterization, and applications of functionalized polypropylenes. He has conducted detailed experiments exploring the modification of polyolefins, developing new advanced and efficient materials for existing markets.
After completion of his doctorate, Dr. Evans worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Oxford, having been awarded an EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account, and was successful in scaling up the polymerization and functionalization processes developed during his graduate studies, and then later working at a large multinational engineering and scientific consultancy in the Materials Science and Electrochemistry practice. Whilst at his previous firm, he undertook proactive and reactive root cause failure analysis, principally concerning battery or polymer products.
Prior to starting his D.Phil., Dr. Evans worked as a Product Improvement Chemist at a leading global supplier of high-performance polymers and ingredients, where he led emulsion polymerization chemical plant process optimization, root cause analysis, and quality improvement projects within Europe, with a strong focus on coating applications.
