Mr. Menendez specializes in project advisory and dispute resolution services on large civil and industrial construction projects in Latin America and Spain, with a focus on the transportation industry.
Mr. Menendez has 18 years of combined experience in design and construction of heavy civil engineering projects and in project advisory and dispute resolution services. He has led and participated on numerous cases involving contract terminations, loss of productivity, cost overruns, schedule delay, evaluation of contractor’s performance, claims management, and economic damages of highways projects, massive urban transportation systems, maritime works, irrigation systems, fuel storage facilities, riverside protection works, hydroelectric plants, power plants, biofuel plants, land development, institutional buildings, and mining projects.
He has successfully given expert testimony in Spanish at an international arbitration hearing held at UNCITRAL forum in Washington, D.C., where he provided and defended his expert opinion on the technical evaluation of the repair works performed by the concessionaire company on a massive existing urban highway in Lima, Peru.
Mr. Menendez has international working experience gained in projects in the United States, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, Chile, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama, Qatar, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain.
He is a native speaker in Spanish and has full professional proficiency in English.
